I have extensive knowledge and experience with both and consider myself a fully paid-up Glass Nerd.
My consultancy rates as a Glass, Glazing & Facade expert are actually very good and certainly reasonably placed within the construction industry. In fact, in most cases, my rates are less than an employee given the same brief.
The highest value project I have delivered sits at approximately $335m USD. When employed some time ago as the Vice President of Operations, my complete oversight valued out at just under the billion USD mark.
Yes, of course. Every large city is different, but generally they are very similar in their attitude to downtown construction. Deliveries are to be made at certain times only (generally early morning or late evening) hoarding must be fit for purpose and the general public’s access, material and tools must be secured, noise kept to a minimum and again only at certain times throughout the day etc. The list indeed has an end, but it’s a long one!
Yes. I have trusted partners overseas that produce some of the highest quality materials on the planet and at a much reduced price. I partner with General Contractors especially. I offer complete Glazing Packages from Design Assistance, through to Engineering, Drafting, Procurement – including profile extruding -Production and Installation.
Yes. Although I do miss my installation days, my bones won’t take that malarkey any more. I have trusted Installation Teams literally across the globe.
I am definitely a fully paid up and certified glass Nerd. My idea of a good night in, is good music and a glass book or manual. At the time of writing, I’m reading a Stained Glass book written by a Stained Glass Artist back in 1947. This will be the third time I’ve read it. I also like a good glass manufacturing or technical manual. My dear Wife thinks I’m nuts.
Yes, although I call these general pages ‘News.’ You can navigate to the pages very simply via any of the navigation elements within the website. ‘General News,‘ is in effect the ‘Glass & Glazing Blog Pages’ and there are other elements included such as ‘The Glass Nerd‘ (Youtube Channel) and ‘Tin52,’ a very new venture that will be detailed within the ‘News’ pages once up and running, or close to it.
Yes,’The Glass Nerd‘ is my opportunity to inject some knowledge and a very light hearted take on the industry in general. Especially Heritage works such as Traditional Stained Glass. I’ll be teaching some basic glass knowledge and skillsets such as glass cutting, Stained Glass patterning, and highlighting a few of the extremely ‘out there’ pieces I have made over the years.
This is a very good question. (Thank you J. Williams from New York.)
Yes, very shortly, and via the Glass Nerd Youtube platform, I’ll be holding some live streaming events. As I have a great love of Traditional Stained Glass, I may hold some in person live events where I can offer tuition and answer questions. And sell my work of course!
We have a small stained glass company which my Wife manages for trhe most part. It’s my throw back to the very beginning of my career.
Yes. I take on projects globally however, most tend to be located within North America. I do offer Project Monitoring Services outside of North America as it’s much less necessary to attend site regularly. The monitoring services are extremely popular now as risk can be pinpointed early on.

The largest single project managed and delivered was located in Qatar (Doha Land) and finalized post handover at $385m. The largest combined project value topped out at just under the $1bn mark.
A part of the industry that I truly enjoy is the restoration of traditional Stained Glass, the polar opposite of the core of my scope nowadays. My Wife and I have a little Stained Glass restoration business and we carry a huge stock of antique glass. We import and restore pieces from the UK and mainland Europe, many dating back as far as the 12th century. If we don’t have a match for the glass you are looking for, we certainly know where to find it.
Yes. Accidents happen and I have been called upon on numerous occasions.
From Heritage to High Rise. When it comes to Glazing Project Management, I take on projects of all sizes and in all locations globally. I’m also National Trust and Heritage registered in both Canada and the UK. Whatever the size or complexity of your glazing project, or if you simply need advice, please just drop me a line.
I’ve been very fortunate and able to travel the globe with my career. Most of the usual suspects have been covered such as, London, Hong Kong, Toronto, Bangkok, Beijing, Tokyo, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Phuket, Singapore, Liverpool, Manchester, New York, Calgary, Seattle, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Las Angeles, Vancouver, Moscow, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Delhi etc. I also delivered two high-rise projects during a lengthy civil war in Thailand back in 2010.
Just drop me a request for a consultation and we can go from there. My Glass, Glazing & Facade services are very reasonable and tailored specifically per-project and need. Generally though, a small refundable retainer will be requested upon proposal and/or quotation. A reasonable hourly rate will be agreed upon and this rate is capped with a ‘not to exceed’ which is set at the time of agreement. I of course only invoice for billable hours. Generally, this costs our clients far less than a full time employee. You also have 40-years of experience to tap into, along with my current supply chain. There is moderate ‘bedding in’ time as I review the details however, with glazing projects, even those sporting major complexity the ‘bedding in time’ is very slight.
Yes, I have been called upon to testify on numerous occasions throughout my career. Generally, these attendances have been related to accidents either in the workplace, or in public places. I have also been called upon by various sections of the UK, Canadian and US military for general glass needs. Unfortunately, delays within construction are a part of the industry. No matter how well a project is managed, there is always the opportunity for project delays to rear their heads. Throughout my career, I have become very contractually astute and extremely apt at forensically stripping projects apart and creating delay claim packages. It’s an unfortunate evil attached to operating within the construction industry but one that can be limited via solid operational excellence. If we need to pursue a claim, I am extremely well versed, especially with Glass, Glazing and Facade related delay claims. These include, but are not limited to Extension of Time and Accelerated Work claims. I have been successful with 95% of my previous claims, some of which have been in the 10’s of millions.
Anything glass related. It really is that simple. I’ve managed and delivered glass contracts for hospitals, stadiums, high-end shopfitters, military establishments, and extremely complex downtown high-rise builds etc. My clients range from the general public to general contractors, developers, glazing contractors, governmental bodies, loss adjusters, construction lawyers, delay claim consultants, insurance companies and large corporate entities such as Samsung U.S. to name just a few.
I’m currently working from my office location in Ridgeway, Ontario and traveling throughout North America. I have a project kicking off in London, UK at the back end of 2025 which will be my only overseas project at this time. (March, 2025) I’ll travel anywhere within reason.
